Faithfulness is a virtue belonging to those who don\’t give up or walk away because of adversity. Adversity becomes a stepping stone for the faithful.

Faithful followers of Christ possess perseverance in pursuit of the call of God in their lives.

Faithfulness has to do with choice. The strength of choice empowers us to keep focused on what is true, noble, right, lovely and admirable.

There is always a reason to give up. Giving up is the activity of infidels. But, those of us who believe to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living keep our eyes on Christ and our hands on the gospel plow; we keep moving, despite the odds.

In the corridors of my mind, I hear wisdom from 1st century Roman statesman Marcus Tullius Cicero who said,

Nothing is more noble, nothing more venerable than fidelity. Faithfulness and truth are the most sacred excellences and endowments of the human mind.

Jesus teaches that faithfulness breeds trust; trust breeds more opportunities as well as more responsibilities. Our Lord says,

“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.\” Luke 16:10 (ESV)

Proverbs 3:3 teaches us,

Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart.

God is looking for those whose hearts are filled with great conviction and whose minds are focused on that which the Lord has called for them to do.

Will that be you?

Don\’t be dissuaded. Look forward to Jesus, and keep it moving!

Because of Jesus,

Dr. Antipas
