The power to change the world…

\"\"The world is full of possibilities. Yet, hate competes with the chances to build the global family that God intends. Lately, I have been questioning what single virtue might change the world.
Paul\’s says, \”And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love\” (1 Corinthians 13:13).
Expounding on the power of love, Martin Luther King, Jr. aptly noted, “Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into friend.” (“I Have a Dream”)
Have you ever felt that more people are against you than for you? It seems so much easier to fight back, matching wrong with wrong. But, love is a way of being and a way of acting in the world.
God wants us to live the power of love. As Martin Luther King puts it, \”love transforms.\” Paul echoes love’s transformative nature when he says, “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head” (Romans 12:20; also, Proverbs 25:21–22).
How can you show love today? Love changes people’s attitudes!
The challenge for us this week is to think of genuine ways to shock someone with love. Repeat the effort over and over. Let\’s see what irresistible, transformative love can do!
